General Information:
*Studio age limit is 16+ with 16 & 17 year olds being required to have a parent/guardian present to sign consent, and provide proof of age.I will not tattoo anyone younger than 16 under any circumstance.Additionally,I reserve the right to refuse(and have done so) any tattoo or tattoo placement that I feel is inappropriate to this age group, for example: hands, necks and girlfriend’s name etc.
*Age limit for rallies and events is 18+ with no exceptions.(Well....maybe for Peter...LOL)
*Clients may bring a friend/relative to the studio for company, who may sit with them in a designated area of my work space,however-I do not permit “watchers”.Only the person being tattooed is permitted in the work trailer during rallies and events.
*Custom work requires deposit.
*Consultation is free, and by appointment only.
*Touch up-if required-is free and without time limit. This applies to my own work only.
*Cash only-and before tattoo.
*$50 minimum in effect at the studio and during all events.
*Prices are based on detail, sometimes location and time requirement, not size ,subject or color versus blackwork.Average tattoos are flat rated, not charged by the hour.Price, however, should not
be your first consideration when getting a tattoo.Sanitation and the end result should be.
*My hourly rate for large custom work is $100 hr,or you can get a flat rate quote. This is par for the industry.Average rate in the city is $100 hr or more.
*PRICES ARE NOT OPEN TO NEGOTIATION.The fact that you know someone who went to drunk buddy's kitchen table and got this or that for $40 has what to do with me?There's a big difference between a hobbyist*and I'm being nice here*(one who keeps his day job) and a professional(one who does this for a living). Price, safety, sanitation, quality and warrantee being among the major differences.
You have to ask yourself this question.Do I want to be tattooed cheap by someone who does it now and then for some drug money?-or do I want to be tattooed by someone who does this 5 days a week and is always in practice, always clean, always professional?I have repaired,re colored, and covered the results of people making the wrong decision.I have seen some that were beyond all possibility of repair, seen horrible scarring and even a festering tattoo with a septic infection that required immediate medical attention.
A GOOD TATTOO IS WORTH PAYING FOR and there are plenty of good, professional artists working in reputable shops in this province where you can get one.
*Firm pricing will not be done over the phone. If you want a firm price...that's what free consultation is for.
*I do not take "drop ins".Ever.So please don't call me expecting to get in the same day.As with
most other things in life.....plan ahead because I am always booked in advance.
*If you must cancel an appointment-a simple phone call is a matter of courtesy that allows me to re-book that time slot."No shows" who fail to cancel will be required to make a $20 deposit(non-refundable and deducted from price of tattoo) when booking any future appointments.
*Hours of operation are 1:30 pm-until late evening. In winter open 4 days per week, summer 5 days per week.No set days per week(I am flexable according to bookings),alternating weekends.
*I have NEVER tattooed "under the influence" and I would appreciate it if you would not come to be tattooed "under the influence."This is a drug and alcohol free professional environment.
*For safety and sanitation reasons, sorry,no children or pets permitted in the studio.
*There is no regulation for this industry in the province of Nova Scotia, although there should be in the interest of protecting the public.Safe practices, therefore, are left in the hands of your tattoo artist.Does the artist have a good reputation for both sanitation and consistant work quality and NEVER tattoos clients while "under the influence"?Is the studio workspace clean and a designated area(not in a kitchen or livingroom but an actual shop setting)?Does the artist wear gloves? Is the equipment bagged and barriered for each client? Is the artist using disposable needles and/or tubes?opening them in front of you?discarding them in front of you?If re-using equipment-is the artist frequently testing autoclave function to ensure your safety and willing to show you the results when requested?*Protect your health by asking questions.*
*NEVER allow anyone to save your DIRTY needles for your next tattoo!!!This has been offered locally as a "good deal" by a couple of kitchen tattooers and has resulted in numerous infected tattoos.A new needle costs less than a dollar! The only deal you'll be getting from that is a free INFECTION.Be aware-be safe!
Helpful hints:
*Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area to be tattooed.
*Make sure you are well rested, hydrated and have eaten prior to your appointment.
*Women-your best pain tolerance level happens to be immediately following your “monthly”.Just prior to this time-your tolerance is at it’s worst.Consider this when scheduling your appointment.
*Have an idea of your likes and dislikes in tattoo choices prior to getting your tattoo.A spur of the moment decision is one you will live with forever.
*If you are pregnant,or think you may be,or breast feeding-DO NOT-get a tattoo.
News Flash!!!!
I don't fit in with the stereotype, don't look like most tattoo artists,I'm an older chic and not so cute-but hey-if you're really so intent on passing judgement-do it on the basis of my work.
